**Sarah Gerard** is the author of the essay collection _Sunshine State_ , a _New York Times_ critics' choice, the novel _Binary Star_ , a finalist for the _Los Angeles Times_ first fiction prize, and two chapbooks. Her short stories, essays, interviews, and criticism have appeared in _The New York Times_ , _Granta_ , _The Baffler_ , _Vice_ , _BOMB Magazine_ , and other journals, as well as anthologies. Her paper collages have appeared in _Hazlitt_ , _BOMB Magazine_ , _Epiphany Magazine_ , _No Tokens Journal_ , and the _Blue Earth Review_. _Recycle_ , a book of collages and text co-authored with the writer and artist Amy Gall, was published by Pacific in 2018. Her column Mouthful, published by _Hazlitt_ , explored her relationship with food ten years into recovery from anorexia. She's been supported by scholarships and fellowships from Yaddo, Tin House, PlatteForum, and Ucross.
