In 1970, Max and Jan King finished a difficult year of internship at the hospital. Meanwhile Jan is pregnant and delivers a baby with a medical complication that suggests paternity other than Max. Henry Rex Greene is a hematologist and oncologist who lives in Florida. He has practiced in California, Ohio, Michigan, and New Hampshire. Active in "medical politics," he served on the California Medical Association's ethics council. His wife Mary Jo is a hospice/palliative care nurse.
