This study analyses which instruments and procedures companies use in the training process to ensure successful training for the occupation of office management assistant. The study provides an insight into the specific organisation and use of planning and design aids in training practice. These include - in addition to the mandatory elements of the company training plan and report booklet - further voluntary evaluation and feedback measures. The study analysed 238 telephone interviews with those responsible for training and 13 company case studies on the occupation of office management assistant. The three training areas of skilled trades, industry and commerce and the public sector were compared
