Illustrator and artist Kate Knapp is a graduate of the Queensland College of Art. Her design studio, Twigseeds, produces cards, print, stationery and books. She is an Anglophile with a British mother and grandparents, and was inspired by _The Magic Faraway Tree_ , _Paddington Bear_ and Raymond Briggs's _Father Christmas_. She lives in Brisbane with her long term partner, but visits the UK every couple of years. _Ruby Red Shoes_ was her first book, and has been shortlisted for local children's book illustration awards. This was followed by _Ruby Red Shoes Goes to Paris_ and _Ruby Red Shoes Goes to London_.
