»Duty to Work and Right to Work in the People's Republic of Poland (1944–1989), in Consideration of the Legal Situation in the German Democratic Republic«: The dissertation examines the obligation to work and the right to work in socialist Poland and refers to the legal situation in the GDR. Under socialism, work was considered a right, a duty and a matter of honor for every citizen, which was enshrined in the constitutions of both countries. In addition to constitutional provisions, this study analyzes legal acts providing criminal and administrative sanctions for non-compliance with the obligation to work, which was primarily intended to serve economic goals.
