This book takes a purely epidemiological perspective to describe the origin and development of an epidemic with the help of differential equation systems. Each model contains all of the necessary terms and results, including proofs, and is accompanied by a specific example with a complete solution. The volume contains simulations and forecasts for four different waves of the recent Covid pandemic in Central Europe.
