ENGLISH DESCRIPTION This book relates the vision of Pope Francis for the Catholic Church just as he has presented it in his homilies, speeches, and essays from his first year as Pontiff. This is the first publication authorized by the Vatican about the first Latin American pope's ideas for the mission of Catholics in today's world. His profound reflections remind us that the Church must leave its seclusion to jubilantly bring God's mercy wherever there is suffering, separation, and injustice. According to Francis, this transformation requires us to become citizens of the world and to accept the evangelist mission to which God has invited us. Pope Francis, who was named Time magazine's 2013 "Person of the Year," has proposed guiding the Church on a path that leads toward authentic Christianity, is faithful to the Gospel, and has a profound impact on the needs of humanity.
