penned God Did Make Little Green Apples as a skit for a ladies' retreat over fifteen years ago! Only recently did she pull out that old skit from so long ago and put it into rhyme for a children's book. Cecelia Assunto, a retired accounting clerk, lives in New Hampshire with her number one supporter, Joe, with whom she will soon celebrate fifty years of marriage. She has been blessed with three children: Joe, Mike, and Andrea; and additionally blessed with five grandsons: Michael, Nicholas, Nino, Anthony, and Joey. ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR: Darcey DeMatte learned to draw before she learned to walk. "Drawing is like breathing to me," she admits. "When I hear a story, I see pictures. It's who I am." Darcey has illustrated several children's books including two that she both wrote and illustrated. With the love of her life and a menagerie of furry children, Darcey makes her home in Hudson Valley, New York, surrounded by their five children and two grandsons.
